Hi, I’m Leah!

I’m an artist and designer based in Singapore, specialising in lettering, illustration, live calligraphy and murals. My work is inspired by human experiences, psychology and connection and I also create art as a response to what’s happening around me in the world. A little bit about my background: I left my day job as an accountant in mid-2018 to pursue a creative career. Thankfully, I was able to turn my passion into my full-time job and I’ve never looked back since.

In addition to my design practice, I’m also the founder of apparel and goods brand, Passion Parade Co. Essentially, we create wearable art that’s mental health and empowerment-centric, while visually juxtaposing darker illustrations with uplifting and positive sentiments. This is important to me and I believe that art and design can be healing, empowering and thought-provoking. Through work that is purposeful and meaningful – that is how creatives can shape culture. Ultimately, I hope that others can look at the art and understand the story behind it and say, "this idea changed my outlook on life".

Personal work aside, I also help brands create custom art experiences and design solutions that get their customers talking. Known for my versatility in lettering styles and expressive calligraphy, I take pride in creating purposeful statement pieces for my clients that delight the eyes. I have had the pleasure to work with companies like Google, The Washington Post, Lamborghini, Van Cleef & Arpels, Pfizer, Uniqlo and more. As an educator in my field, I devote the rest of my time to design education, hosting workshops for schools, corporate teams, events and festivals. I also teach public group classes in-person locally, as well as online internationally. Besides business as usual, you can find me capturing visuals with my Canon EOS M5 over at @thebackseatview, binge-watching YouTube/Netflix or possibly, still on the hunt on finding the best latte in the world!
