Uniqlo Lunar New Year 2021 Calligraphy Customisation

I had the pleasure to work with Uniqlo for Lunar New Year 2021 across 2 weekends, where I got to customise cards for their Orchard Central shoppers. The A6 cards were in their CNY colour themes and came in 4 different colours: peach, yellow, lilac and pink. Whenever a customer purchases anything from a store, they’re entitled to receive complimentary custom calligraphy: in English, choosing between traditional calligraphy or modern calligraphy or in Chinese, 1 character for e.g. 福 or their Chinese surname.

It was fun to calligraph live on-the-spot and create any message customers asked of me! Some customers asked for their favourite quotes or mantra, or song lyrics. For names, I’ve written kids names, couple names, and some families also requested for a card to include all their family members names, which was really sweet and thoughtful - I’d imagine it’ll look beautiful framed in their living room. Others got Uniqlo items as birthday gifts, so they asked for birthday wishes to be written for the receivers. All in all, I did around 70+ cards per day on the first weekend and gearing up to CNY, 150+ cards per day across the second weekend (4 hours per day). It was also really nice to see familiar faces who came on the first weekend, yet again on the second weekend for more customised cards.
